Esoteric Nomenclature

It seems like every other week I have a problem with the CRC handbook. I was looking up the melting point of p-aminobenzoic acid, but the CRC handbook is apparently too good to call p-aminobenzoic acid by its IUPAC name.

Instead, we get aniline-4-carboxylic acid. Or, p-anthranilic acid. That's just wonderful. At least I can search by CAS number.

As for Beilstein...the school sadly doesn't seem to have it.

Incidentally, it's mindlessly fun to play with the molecular modelling kit. I've been spinning a C-C (single) bond and twisting between the chair/boat conformations of a cyclohexane derivative for the last 15 minutes...
