In school, one sees all sorts of lectures (with the most common dichotomy probably being "interesting" versus "tedious"). Sometimes, though, lectures can get a little aggravating as well.
First, inorganic. Don't get me wrong, I love inorganic class: the professor is brilliant, and symmetry operations are very much "pwning" me right now. However:
Professor, (in linear algebra, certainly in R^3) a basis is not the same as a spanning set. And the distinction between the two - linear independence (of the basis) - is nontrivial.
Secondly, thermodynamics. This has alot more to do with way the professor teaches the course than the course itself.
Ok, professor. Admittedly, the majority of the class consists of biochemistry majors, many of which openly claim incompetence in (and indifference to) math. But I can guarantee that everyone in the class is aware that
implies
TΔS > H
Please don't waste one full minute of the lecture explaining that, along with other similar minutiae. Just move on.
The lack of rigor in thermodynamics is irritating, too, but at least it's understandable.
